Born 4/3/2008 at 5:40pm, weighing in at 7lbs 7oz, 18 3/4 inches long and a 36cm melon...the pride of Deerhorn Valley...The Jamul Hammer...Caden Michael Lee
With Granny and Grandad on their way over and the Krazy Kurths soon to follow, we all set out to spruce up for our Christmas dinner. Turkey in the oven and Mele Kalikimaka playing in the background it's time to hit the tub.
Baby Caden's first Christmas. All the colors and crinkly paper captured curious Caden's eye.
Mom helped pick out the presents and our boy was all smiles.
The apparently tired old man stepped in to help with the unwrapping.
So we didn't get a true white christmas like our friends up in the northwest, but it was a whiteish christmas. Spent most of the day being hit by clouds as you can see looking out the back window.
Who knew crawling up a single step or holding on to a chair would require such concentration and determination. Now that wee Caden is actually moving and balancing, he seems to be napping more. The rigors of baby Caden day...eat, crawl, stand, nap, repeat.
Crazy Beans and the Ranchhand... The weekend after Thanksgiving, Maribeth and Jason came out to visit. We bundled up the lil man and played in the yard. Jason, never having seen a calf rope, landed the calf dummy on his second toss. Natural form and determination. Been calling him the old ranchhand ever since.
I've looked high and low and can't seem to find anyone that recommends the cure for a bawling baby is a quick photo shoot. But he looked so cute I couldn't help it.
We had our first civics lesson today. Young Caden was wide eyed and taking it all in. Lil man handed in my ballot, and then we nearly got kicked out for taking pictures. Upon review, the ruling board declared we could take pictures, but no other person could be in the picture. With triumphant enthusiasm I blurted "well shooot, I don't want any dopey neighbor in the picture...just me, my son and a couple flags" Next week we'll be starting a course on discretion.
